She is interested in the aspirations and emotions embodied by landscape, architecture and infrastructure and the everyday life that unfolds around. These actions are generative and contribute to the ever-changing nature of place.

Brueton makes small, considered works on paper, publications and large, multi-layered constructions and installations that bring together disparate places and viewpoints. Conversations begin; architectural forms collide; skylines overlap; a pile of rubble becomes a mountain viewed through a train window. New forms are created and the fabric of place is spun through her mark making. Composition and the construction of images is also a formal concern within her work; how we frame and are framed by the world around us.

Brueton also writes and is interested in bringing words and images together through publication and performance.

Selected exhibitions and performances

2026 John Ruskin Prize, Trinity Buoy Wharf, London
2025 SIDE by SIDE, HB drawing at No Format Gallery, Deptford, London
2023 Wahoddiadau-Invitation, UTOPIAS BACH, Galleri, Caernarfon
2022 moss.quarry.plaque, with Margaret Woodward, public art installation, City of Hobart’s Digital Twin, Tasmania
2021 Fuse/ Fracture,a night of poetry with Patrick Jones, Llanrumney Hall, Cardiff
2020-21 Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2020, Drawing Projects UK, Trowbridge;
